What this job can offer you

Our team makes global HR feel seamless and simple through crafting the experience of Remote’s product. The design team aims to differentiate Remote through high-quality design and user experience. We practice end-to-end product design from research and strategy to delivering interfaces with measurable impact. Design is at the forefront of everything we do.

The Head of Design will provide and own the creative vision for the Remote brand, contribute to brand definition and user experience principles, establish design processes, manage projects, oversee the Design department and set quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provide the creative vision, direction and leadership for the Design department.
  • Build, inspire and mentor a team of world-class design talent and oversee their outputs end-to-end.
  • Own and develop creative programs and design concepts to meet Remote's creative vision, branding and business objectives.
  • Champion user-centered design, user experience, design-led thinking and design best practices across the business.
  • Lead concept development, provide creative input, set high quality standards, and troubleshoot design issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product and Marketing) on brand partnerships and projects.
  • Work on design assets as required and use quantitative and qualitative data to inform decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and tools.
Qualifications
  • Extensive track record leading and overseeing design teams, including senior staff and leaders, ideally at a tech company for branding and enterprise design.
  • Experience leading initiatives from briefs to execution with high-quality results.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating branding, design aesthetics and UX/UI excellence; ability to lead a design department across these areas.
  • Strong knowledge of product design, typography, website design, visual design, brand development and the creative process.
  • Fluency in product design trends and tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Empathetic, inclusive, and committed to diversity and inclusion.
  • Fluent in English.

Remote Compensation Philosophy

Remote’s total rewards philosophy ensures fair, unbiased compensation and fair equity pay with competitive benefits in all locations. We pay above in-location rates and seek to inspire global talent-hiring and wealth in developing countries.

Salary ranges are geo-based and reflect role, level and location. The base salary for this full-time role is between $90,000 USD and $200,000 USD. Actual pay depends on location, skills, experience, training, business needs and market demand. The base salary range may change.
