American Family Insurance is seeking a senior leader to oversee the data and data engineering environments, collaborating with executives to shape the division's technology strategy. The role guides architecture, strategy, and the deployment of data platforms, aligning with business needs and company-wide initiatives.

The position emphasizes stakeholder management, leadership across IT and business teams, and driving data-driven decision making.

Formación

• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
• Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
• Demonstrated experience interfacing with business clients and driving solution discussions with both IT and business stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience managing data to scale using data summarization, query, and analysis software and tools.
• Demonstrated experience leading and successfully delivering technical projects.
• Demonstrated experience in a wide variety of programming languages and frameworks, demonstrating strong skills in the development, articulation and implementation of coding practices.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of technology used in systems and/or processes for big data/machine learning.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of the tools and techniques for data extraction, manipulation and analysis of large and complex datasets.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of statistical modeling, modeling software and research.

Responsabilidades

• Drives the strategy, architecture, and deployment of the enterprise's data platforms as well as a roadmap for its future development that matches and supports business needs.
• Develops the approach and sets the strategy for continually assessing current and future business systems needs within the context of overall company strategy.
• Directs the portfolio of technology work for the division.
• Oversees the division processes for designing, developing and implementing data technology solutions.
• Researches current and future data technology trends and best practices and recommends direction and/or applicability to the division and organization.
• Establishes divisional standards for various data science tools or information platforms.
• Creates a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by facilitating and fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Works with team members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments, and support on-going development.
• Leads with influence and expertise. Actively contributes to division or department leadership team. Communicates and supports organization mission, vision, values, policies, and practices.
