Job summary

Lazard Asset Management is seeking a Head of Data Engineering to lead a full-scale modernization of the data domain platform, tooling, architecture, and governance. You will own the architecture, drive cloud-native data services, and guide a senior team to deliver data for AI/ML initiatives.

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in data engineering with leadership experience, plus hands-on expertise in building enterprise-scale data platforms and modernizing legacy environments.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in data engineering or data architecture with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience leading data platform modernization at a financial services firm or asset manager.
• Hands-on ability to design architecture and review code of data pipelines, not just manage teams.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with cloud-native data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end technical architecture of the data platform.
• Lead legacy migration to a cloud-based, governed architecture.
• Establish and enforce enterprise security controls and regulatory compliance for data platforms.
• Deliver data-as-a-service capabilities and AI enablement across the firm.
