Job summary

Powerfleet seeks a Vice President, Data & AI Engineering to lead enterprise Data & AI capabilities, defining strategy and execution across data, AI platforms, and intelligent automation. You’ll balance strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, moving AI from experimentation to scalable, secure production.

You will oversee data engineering, AI/ML, GenAI, and AI platforms, partnering with Product, IT, Security, and business leaders to deliver value at scale.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in technology/engineering with data, software, cloud, or AI
• 7+ years leading engineering teams, global or distributed
• Experience building enterprise data and AI platforms and roadmaps
• Strong understanding of data platforms, cloud, distributed systems, AI/ML
• Familiarity with GenAI patterns: LLMs, RAG, agents, orchestration, observability

Responsibilities

• Define and execute Data & AI engineering strategy, roadmap, and priorities.
• Establish scalable, secure architectures for data, AI/ML, GenAI, and AI-enabled apps.
• Build data foundations supporting analytics, ML, real-time intelligence.
• Advise executives on AI capabilities, risks, and investments.
• Lead development and adoption of AI capabilities and platforms.
• Advance MLOps/LLMOps, evaluation, observability, governance.
• Build and lead a global Data & AI engineering org.
• Partner with Security, Legal, Privacy, Risk on AI governance.
• Establish metrics for adoption, productivity, reliability, and cost.
• Communicate strategy and progress to leadership.
