Job summary

Zenith Insurance Company is seeking a Sr. Architect for IT Security to design, implement, and optimize our security posture across on-premises and cloud environments.

You will mentor engineers, lead security initiatives, and ensure compliance with CIS, CCPA, HIPAA, and NYDFS. The role requires 5+ years of leadership in cybersecurity, hands-on security system management, and extensive knowledge of network security and cloud security.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading a team of cybersecurity professionals.
• Experience supporting implementations in a hybrid cloud environment.
• Experience with Windows or Linux systems or network engineering.
• Experience with network security products including Firewalls, WAF, Proxy, NAC, VPNs and endpoint security.
• Experience with network security in a public cloud environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA and GSEC are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and manage a team of IT Security professionals responsible for monitoring, detecting and responding to threats.
• Analyze and investigate security alerts, determine scope and risks, and communicate mitigations.
• Configure, maintain, and monitor security systems (firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR).
• Lead security architecture initiatives for network security, data protection, IAM, and cloud computing.
• Ensure alignment with CIS, CCPA, HIPAA, and NYDFS.
• Develop and report on security architecture policies, standards, and best practices.
• Stay updated on cybersecurity landscape and evaluate new technologies.
• Document and communicate security architecture decisions effectively.
• Drive deployment of new platforms and features to meet lifecycle needs.
• Mentor engineering teams on frameworks, tools and technologies.
