Job summary

Amex GBT seeks a Director of Cyber Defense to lead CSIRT, CTI, Detection Engineering, and DSI. You will set strategy, run incident response end-to-end, and partner with Legal, Privacy, HR, and executives to protect travelers and data.

You will drive detection content, threat intelligence, and cross-functional collaboration across a global business with a focus on trust and security leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cybersecurity with leadership in incident response or security operations.
• Direct experience handling sensitive investigations with Legal or HR.
• Familiarity with privacy/data protection regulations for global business.

Responsibilities

• Lead and integrate four teams (CSIRT, CTI, Detection Engineering, DSI) as one cyber defense function.
• Set strategy, roadmap, and budget; report risk and progress to senior leadership.
• Oversee incident response end-to-end and coordinate with executives during major incidents.
• Direct threat intelligence collection, analysis, and actionable distribution to defenses.
