Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel seeks a Director, Cyber Defense to lead CSIRT, CTI, Detection Engineering and DSI. You will set strategy for detection, investigation, and response across a global business and partner with Legal, Privacy, HR, and executives during incidents.

The role requires 10+ years in cybersecurity and proven leadership, with experience managing security operations at scale and communicating with non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cybersecurity with leadership in incident response or security operations.
• Experience guiding investigations involving data privacy or insider risk.
• Familiarity with threat intelligence practices and SIEM/EDR content.

Responsibilities

• Lead four cyber defense teams as one function with a unified roadmap.
• Own incident response end-to-end, including playbooks and after-action reviews.
• Direct threat intelligence programs and translate findings into detection priorities.
• Drive detection engineering across SIEM/EDR, cloud, and identity systems.
