Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the Head of Corporate Legal Counsel operates as the fulcrum between transactional legal operations and functional product and regulatory activities. We're seeking a senior executive to orchestrate our Office of General Counsel and navigate the complexities of federal and state regulatory environments. You'll lead a team of legal experts, providing critical counsel to our Personal Lines business, and forge and execute regulatory strategies that safeguard and propel our enterprise business interests. You'll oversee process excellence and guide transactional activities across all levels. This role, reporting directly to the General Counsel, positions you at the nexus of legal expertise and strategic influence. Essential Job Functions

As leader of the broader Legal organization, the Head of Corporate Legal Counsel will:

• Provide strategic legal counsel to our business and shape the future of our operations.
• Manage complex contracts, guide M&A activities, oversee procurement processes, and ensure data privacy compliance.
• Lead a team of attorneys, offering guidance on critical business functions.
• Navigate legal landscapes, influence decisions, and ensure strategic growth and protection.

Essential Functions Continued

The Head of Corporate Legal Counsel will be responsible for:

• Developing strategies to improve transactional delivery, scaling risk management and operations.
• Guiding M&A, vendor negotiations, and reviewing financing transactions.
• Implementing benchmarks to recognize legal excellence and align activities with value creation.
• Driving regulatory updates and new product releases.
• Presenting on insurance law issues to leadership and Zurich Group Legal.

Education Requirements

Candidates should have:

• Admittance to practice law in California; LLB or JD in good standing.
• Knowledge of insurance products, state laws, and federal securities laws.
• Experience in insurance operations and legal advice related to underwriting and regulatory inquiries.
• Confidence to challenge current practices and propose solutions.
