Job summary

The YMCA of the USA is seeking a Director of Sports & Aquatics to provide leadership for youth and adults sports, and aquatic programs in the Greater Peoria area. You will oversee swim lesson programming, aquatic operations, and a team of volunteer coaches, instructors, lifeguards and supervisors to deliver high-quality recreational opportunities.

You will manage program budgets, ensure safety and ADA compliance, recruit and develop staff and volunteers, and collaborate with community partners

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
CPO certification within first six months of employment.
LGI certification within first six months of employment.
YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead youth and adults sports programming and aquatics operations.
Manage a team of volunteer coaches, swim instructors, lifeguards and supervisors.
Develop and monitor program budgets to meet fiscal objectives.
Plan, schedule and secure appropriate program spaces and activities.
Ensure safety and ADA compliance in programs and facilities.
Recruit, hire and develop a diverse staff and volunteer teams.
Collaborate with schools, community organizations and other partners.
Oversee marketing and outreach to increase participation.
