Job summary

Loyola Marymount University seeks a Director of Community Relations to lead LMU's strategy for engaging surrounding communities. The role builds trust with neighbors, organizations, and public officials to advance LMU's priorities and protect the university’s reputation as a responsible neighbor and partner.

The Director reports to the VP External Relations & Partnerships and collaborates with Government Affairs, Marketing, Facilities, Campus Safety, and Student Affairs to ensure coordinated

Qualifications

• Seven years of progressively responsible experience in community relations or public affairs.
• Experience developing and executing community engagement strategies and measurable objectives.
• Knowledge of Los Angeles-area communities and local government, councils, and public agencies.
• Ability to build credibility with residents, leaders, officials, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive community relations strategy and annual operating plan.
• Cultivate relationships with neighborhood residents, organizations, businesses, and civic leaders.
• Represent LMU at community meetings, hearings, and external forums.
• Lead the Neighborhood Advisory Committee and coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Develop KPI reporting and track progress toward strategic priorities.
