Description

WTW is looking for a senior leader with Commercial Lines actuarial and pricing experience in the U.S. market to join as a Property & Casualty (P&C) Director/Senior Director in our Insurance Consulting and Technology (ICT) practice. In this role, you will own our Commercial Lines propositions (excluding Specialty). You will build, sell and deliver consulting and technology solutions to our Commercial Lines insurance clients, helping our clients deliver better business results through improved strategies, enhanced analytical capability, and WTW’s market-leading software.

ICT provides a powerful combination of advisory services for insurance companies, integrated with leading-edge technology solutions and software, all underpinned by unparalleled analytical capability. WTW has ambitious growth plans for our North America P&C propositions, especially in the business-focused areas of Pricing, Product, Claims and Underwriting. Our goal is to substantially increase our footprint in advising insurance clients on the efficiency and effectiveness of their Underwriting, Pricing, Product Development, Carrier Operations and Distribution and Sales capabilities, and to further WTW’s Radar technology as a key enabler of change.

This position can be based in a major U.S. Market and is open to remote/virtual work.

The Responsibilities

  • Build and own our North American proposition strategy for Commercial Lines. Determine and lead on our go-to-market strategy in North America for Commercial Lines-specific solutions, including Radar Fusion (our workbench product) and our ISO accelerator.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and potential clients, identifying client needs, and determining solutions for those needs.
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with senior insurance carrier leaders through effective communication.
  • Identify and pursue potential client engagements, including crafting scopes of work, bringing together the right project team, and providing leadership through the engagements.
  • Lead teams to deliver client projects, including predictive modeling, model peer reviews, best practice reviews, roadmap exercises, delivery of portfolio management capability, regulatory filing strategy engagements, etc.
  • Discuss and demonstrate applications of WTW’s technology products, particularly Radar, to clients. Lead technology pursuits, and ultimately close technology deals with clients.
  • Provide leadership, expertise, guidance and coaching to the wider team, particularly with respect to Commercial Lines.
  • Promote WTW as a leader in the market with superior industry knowledge, insights, and solutions. This will include presenting at conferences, creating educational podcasts, participating in webinars, etc.
  • Meet sales and billable hour target goals.
Qualifications

The Requirements

  • At least 12 years P&C Commercial Lines insurance experience, including a strong background in Pricing and Analytics.
  • Proven success in senior leadership roles in the P&C market (e.g. carriers and/or insurance consulting firms).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of core P&C Commercial Lines insurance products.
  • Knowledge of North American insurance marketplace and carriers.
  • Practiced in managing complex projects.
  • Actuarial qualification (FCAS or equivalent).
  • Available to travel as needed.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience leading or participating on actuarial or underwriting transformation projects.
  • Participation in a rotational training program or exposure to multiple functions within insurance.
  • Knowledge of WTW’s end-to-end analytics tool, Radar.

Compensation

The base salary range being offered for this role ranges [$220,000 – $330,000] USD per year, commensurate with experience and skills & competencies. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
