Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a senior leader in Clinical Pharmacology to drive PK/PD strategy across the drug development portfolio in North Chicago. You will lead PK/PD activities, guide project plans, and deliver data-driven insights for management decisions and regulatory submissions.

You will collaborate with R&D, Regulatory, and other divisions, mentoring teams and shaping development plans while upholding high standards of quality and timeliness.

Qualifications

• PhD with typically 7+ years of experience or PharmD with typically 9+ years of experience in a relevant field; MS or equivalent education with 15+ years; BS with 17+ years.
• Experience with PK, PBPK, PK-PD, Pharmacometrics or systems pharmacology, Drug metabolism/Transporters.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership competencies in PK/PD, Biopharmaceutics, Pharmacometrics.
• Experience across range of development phases and knowledge of pharma drug development processes.
• Scientific project leadership or related experience; strong time management and scope control.

Responsibilities

• Leads Clinical Pharmacology/PK/PD activities and multiple major projects.
• Assists R&D senior management in selecting action plans meeting business objectives.
• Identifies issues and helps with risk assessment and contingency planning.
• Provides timelines to assess portfolio opportunities and negotiates with functions on outcomes.
• Directs clinical protocols and scientific reports for regulatory filings; leads regulatory documents and responses.
• Performs due diligence assessments and represents CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY on BD teams.
• Identifies process improvements and obtains management sponsorship.
• Contributes to departmental goals and PK/PD decision strategies.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of PK/PD data analysis, modeling and simulation methods/software.
• May manage personnel including development, mentoring, and delegation.
