Job summary

Jobtailor in Cincinnati seeks an experienced senior leader to oversee the claims department of 54 professionals. You will set the vision, goals and direction for the team and partner with underwriting on trends to drive performance.

You will lead strategic planning, staff development and multi-line claims management, focusing on Liability, Property and Workers' Comp, while ensuring regulatory compliance and high engagement across the claims culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 10+ years of leadership experience.
• Significant experience in management of casualty and property claims.
• Experience with strategic planning and employee development.
• Experience with multi-line claims; focus on Liability, Property and Workers Comp.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall management of the claims department (54 professionals).
• Responsible for performance, development and coaching of all claims staff.
• Provide vision, goals and direction; share accountability for claims support staff.
• Partner with underwriting teams for insights regarding claims trends.
• Lead input and active participation in divisional meetings and strategic initiatives.
• Support and counsel for new business opportunities; monitor and analyze data for reserving quality.
• Ensure claims handling complies with statutes and regulations; nurture claims culture and employee engagement.
• Provide advice on resolution of claims files; make recommendations on cases exceeding personal authority.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to meet budget and performance targets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
