Job summary

YMCA Camp Chandler is seeking a Media Director to lead the camp’s media team for the summer season. You will oversee photo, video, and digital content that captures the Camp Chandler experience and communicates the energy and culture to campers, families, staff, alumni, and the broader community.

You will supervise two Media Assistants, set creative direction, manage production, and ensure all media reflects the YMCA brand, privacy policies, and high quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in photography, videography, social media, digital media, marketing or communications is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to create and edit high-quality photo and video content.
• Experience with photography and videography equipment is preferred.
• Experience using photo/video editing software and digital content platforms.
• Strong understanding of social media trends, storytelling and content strategy.
• Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to lead a creative team and work independently.
• Comfort in a fast-paced outdoor camp environment.
• Portfolio of related media work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and mentor two Media Assistants as part of the Camp Chandler Media Team.
• Develop and manage a comprehensive summer media and content strategy.
• Capture high-quality photos and video throughout the camp season, including daily life and events.
• Produce engaging weekly and seasonal content, including recap videos and social media materials.
• Oversee organization, editing, storage, and management of camp media assets.
• Ensure media is captured and shared promptly with high quality and consistency.
• Coordinate with the Camp Director to identify stories and promotional opportunities.
• Review and approve media produced by assistants to meet standards.
• Maintain media equipment and ensure compliance with policies and permissions.
