About the Role

The Head of Brand Strategy for Old Navy is responsible for establishing the long-term strategic direction of Old Navy in partnership with the Old Navy Leadership Team. This leader reports to the Chief Business and Strategy Officer and has a dotted line to the Old Navy brand President. The role involves leading strategic change initiatives to drive growth, develop business, and formulate brand, channel, and product strategies. The leader manages the strategy team and collaborates with Gap Inc. strategy teams to ensure alignment and execution of strategies.

Salary Range: $320,000 - $350,000 USD

Compensation varies based on qualifications, experience, skill level, and location. The pay will meet or exceed minimum wage or the specified pay range based on local requirements.

What You'll Do
  • Be a member of the Old Navy Leadership Team, representing the strategic agenda of senior leaders.
  • Develop long-range business strategies and annual plans aligning with Gap Inc. goals.
  • Articulate compelling storylines to drive action.
  • Integrate enterprise strategies into divisional plans and oversee multiple projects.
  • Partner with Finance and other leaders to inform strategic decisions and investments.
  • Lead transformation efforts, identify new business opportunities, and oversee partnerships and investments.
  • Drive innovation by identifying trends and fostering a culture of innovation.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for product launches and market expansion.
  • Lead and develop the strategy team, maintaining strong partnerships across the organization.
Who You Are
  • Experience in strategy consulting or corporate strategy within retail, apparel, digital, or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred; proven success in growing global businesses.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Deep expertise in customer and market strategy.
  • Experience with turnaround, transformation, and business model innovation.
  • Mergers and acquisitions experience, including research, due diligence, and integration.
  • Strong leadership, talent development, and influence skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior executives and in a matrixed organization.
