Job summary

Range is seeking a Head of Alternative Investments to own the strategy and platform, designing investment philosophy and deploying billions in AUM across private equity, credit, real estate, and other assets.

The role includes leading a high-performing team, partnering with Planning, Ops, Product, and Compliance to deliver institutional-grade access to members, with in-office work in McLean, VA or NYC.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in alternative investments, private markets, or institutional asset allocation.
• Senior leadership experience in a high-growth or technology-driven environment.
• Deep familiarity with private equity, private credit, real estate, hedge funds, and other alternative asset classes.
• Proven track record of building and scaling alternatives platforms or programs.
• Strong network of relationships with general partners, fund managers, and alternatives platforms.
• Expertise in regulatory and operational considerations specific to alternative investments.
• Data-driven mindset with experience defining KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics for portfolio and platform performance.
• FinTech or startup experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead Range’s alternative investments strategy, defining asset classes, products, and access points.
• Own sourcing, due diligence, and manager/fund selection, building relationships with top-tier partners.
• Lead capital deployment at scale, overseeing allocation of billions of dollars of AUM.
• Drive automation and operational efficiency with Engineering and Product for subscriptions, capital calls, distributions, and reporting.
• Set strategy and KPIs for the alternatives function, using data to measure performance.
• Ensure regulatory and compliance alignment, supporting disclosures and audit readiness.
• Lead and develop a high-impact team, hiring and mentoring investment professionals.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Investment Ops, and Client Services
