Job summary

Moonshot is seeking a Head of AI Safety to lead the delivery, development, and growth of our AI Safety portfolio in the United States. You will guide applied safety research, evaluation frameworks, and client engagement with frontier AI companies, governments, and regulators.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for team performance, ethics, and partnerships. Ideal candidates have deep trust & safety experience, strong technical fluency, and a track record in project management

Qualifications

• Experience in trust & safety, online harms, or a closely related field and applying that knowledge to AI systems.
• Ability to design or contribute to evaluation frameworks and interventions for harm categories.
• Strong people management, project and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead applied AI safety work across harm categories using red teaming and adversarial evaluation.
• Advise frontier AI companies on model safety, policies, and interventions.
• Translate insights from safety experts into actionable guidance for cross-functional teams.
• Set methodological approach for the portfolio and develop evaluation frameworks.
• Lead and participate in red teaming and adversarial evaluation, including test scenarios and scoring criteria.
• Maintain rigorous documentation for technical and stakeholder audiences.
