Asana seeks a Director of Engineering to lead our AI Platform organization in San Francisco. You will drive end-to-end strategy for four teams through their engineering managers, shaping context, model serving, evaluation, and cost optimization.

You’ll mentor managers, recruit top talent, align platform investments with business outcomes, and set high standards for reliability, performance, and enterprise trust across global customers.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in engineering leadership.
• 2+ years of managing engineering managers and scalable org-building.
• Proven track record using AI tools daily and scalable architectures.
• Experience balancing cost, performance, and reliability at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI Platform strategy across multiple teams and managers.
• Drive cost-per-execution and optimize model routing and inference.
• Establish evaluation frameworks and performance standards.
• Mentor managers, recruit top talent, and maintain high execution standards.
