Summary of Role:

The Head of Advocacy is a key leader in driving our strategy and engagement of key patient advocacy groups, physician professional societies, and key governmental organizations. This position will be accountable for building a team across advocacy and government affairs to support Lantheus’s portfolio, business objectives, and continue to support a positive environment to support the growth of the radiopharmaceutical industry.

This person will be an ambassador for the organization with external organizations and instill our cultural values in recruiting, retaining and developing talent to deliver better patient outcomes. It will also be the responsibility of this position to execute continued efforts towards enterprise resource planning to ensure long-term sustainability of the business.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

1. Establish a team to oversee building external relationships with key advocacy stakeholders across patient groups, physician professional societies and key state and national government organizations.
2. Develop vision and strategy for external engagement that strengthens relationships with key advocacy stakeholder groups across nuclear medicine, neurology, oncology, and cardiology.
3. Collaborate with Lantheus leadership team to ensure patient-centered strategies align with broader corporate objectives.
4. Ensure comprehensive policy strategies are in place to address key legislative and regulatory issues related to the radiopharmaceutical industry on both a state and federal level.
5. Monitor healthcare policy developments impacting access and patient engagement, providing strategic recommendations to leadership.
6. Lead strategy and engagement with key industry associations including MITA, CORAR, and BIO.
7. Build and cultivate productive relationships with internal and external thought leaders, business leaders/organizations, alliance partners and colleagues that are essential to the success of Lantheus products and business at large.
8. Strong leadership capabilities – builds and develops high performing teams; articulates a compelling vision, evolves vision or objective into an operational plan.
9. Lead team to manage growth and change, develop human capital, and create and maintain a culture of engagement and accountability.
10. Consistent track record of providing prompt and objective feedback, coaching, and counseling to enhance or improve performance by setting expectations and holding individuals accountable for performance and behavior.
11. Champion and instill company and cultural values, and ensure initiatives align with Lantheus’ culture and corporate goals.
12. Proven ability to communicate ideas and information both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner to all levels within the organization.
13. Demonstrate the ability to make enterprise-wide decisions and remain persistently focused on Lantheus business priorities.

Experience and Qualifications:

Required

1. BS/BA required (science/business/finance), MS or MBA optional but preferred.
2. 15+ years in the pharmaceutical industry with demonstration of increasing responsibility, in some combination of advocacy, government affairs, public policy, and/or market access.
3. Proven track record building multi-function teams in advocacy and government affairs.
4. Strong background in US healthcare market dynamics and evolving trends.
5. Ability to navigate and lead organizational changes and deliver results; take ownership and manage large scale transformation programs and execute on work-streams.
6. Results-oriented leader with ability to work in dynamic environment with changing and multiple priorities, practical problem solver and strong prioritization skills.
7. Innovative, capacity to think through enterprise lens and forward thinker with good grasp of new technologies, competitive landscapes, and the regulatory environment.
8. Strong collaborator and change agent with demonstrated experience in influencing stakeholders to support decision making processes.
9. Routine overnight travel based on business need and frequent weekend work may be required.
10. Valid driver’s license.

Preferred

1. Experience in Oncology, including prostate cancer, or Neuroscience.
2. Clinical and/or technical discipline knowledge (e.g., radiopharmaceuticals, theranostics, treatment paradigms, and future trends).
