Job summary

The Jewell School District 8 is seeking a qualified athletics coach for interscholastic basketball. You will train student-athletes, ensure safety, and follow OSAA and district guidelines.

Responsibilities include supervising practice, teaching sport-specific skills, handling minor first aid, and communicating progress to parents and the community. Background check and CPR/First Aid certification are required.

Qualifications

• Must understand student-athlete safety and proper skill-set training for coaching competitive interscholastic basketball.
• Ability to pass a background and criminal history check.
• Must possess and maintain a valid first aid/CPR/AED card.
• Must pass all training as designated by the OSAA and Jewell School District.

Responsibilities

• Train student-athletes using safe and strenuous sport-specific exercise, supervises and teaches student-athletes based upon OSAA/Jewell School policies.
• Deals with minor first aid situations and keeps district, parents and public informed about progress and achievements.
• Carry out other comparable duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Performance Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the school administration and AD, performs a variety of tasks; trains student-athletes using safe and strenuous sport-specific exercise, supervises and teaches student-athletes based upon the guidelines of all OSAA and Jewell School policies, deals with minor first aid situations that may occur, and keeps the school district, parents, and public informed about student-athlete and team progress and achievement. Carry out other comparable duties as assigned by the AD.
