4350 - Foreign Language Academy in Kansas City, MO seeks a part-time Middle School Head Track and Field Coach to lead the athletic program and drive sport-specific development. Immediate start, supervise practices and contests, and coordinate with the Athletic Director and Principal.

The role emphasizes student-athlete development, ethical conduct, and ongoing professional growth through clinics, with responsibilities for fundraising and promotion of the sport.

Qualifications

• Must possess a four-year college degree and be contracted by the KCMSD Board of Education for the school year as a full or part time teacher or 1-3 years of coaching experience.
• Knowledge of particular sport (philosophy & coaching).
• Must successfully complete the MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Courses.
• A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept and working knowledge of all collegiate eligibility center regulations.
• Preferred: Employed as a teacher or administrator in the school in which the candidate applies for a coaching position.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the school’s athletic program through development, implementation and improvement of the sport coached.
• Compete with a full varsity schedule (MSHSAA standards) and enforce athletic standards.
• Supervise students at practices and contests per KCMSD Athletic Department.
• Manage equipment/inventory and report to Athletic Director/Principal.
• Model leadership and sportsmanship during practices and contests; uphold high standards.
• Ensure equipment is returned and inventory is accurate.
• Maintain records of team/individual accomplishments and issue letters/awards.
• Work with the Principal to sustain a solid program.
