Job summary

York Country Day School is seeking a Head Middle School Boys Basketball Coach to oversee the planning, conditioning, training, and instruction of our boys basketball program.

This role reports to the Director of Athletics and must align with York Country Day School and Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association policies. You will mentor athletes, assist in game planning and practice coaching, and build a program focused on character and lifelong positive experiences.

Qualifications

• Basketball coaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and maintaining the discipline and conduct of student athletes to support the image and reputation of the athletics program.
• Assist in planning and coaching practice sessions with the varsity coach.
• Coach team members individually and in groups, and demonstrate game techniques.
• Assist in developing and implementing game strategy and position assignments.
• Assist in the strength and conditioning programs for student athletes.
• Ensure adherence to all PIAA and York Country Day School rules and regulations/policies.
• Be a mentor, both in basketball and life.
• Build positive relationships with all members of the York Country Day School community, including students, faculty, administration, parents and alumni.
• Build a program that’s goal is to give our students a positive experience that they will take with them for the rest of their lives.

Head Middle School Boys Basketball Coach

The Middle School Boys Basketball Coach at York Country Day School is responsible for the planning and directing the conditioning, training, and performance of our student athletes, for our boys basketball program.

This position reports to the Director of Athletics. This coaching position and all of the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of York Country Day School and the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA).

Outcome:

The outcome of this position will be the development of our middle school athletes as well as being a support for the upper school programs.
