Head Men's Lacrosse Coach
Position: Full Time, Exempt Staff
Location: Main Campus, Reading, PA, US
Job Summary:
The Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach is responsible for providing ethical leadership in managing all aspects of the Men’s Lacrosse program, including fostering a positive team environment, recruiting and retaining academically and athletically qualified student-athletes, and preparing student-athletes for success through planning, strategy development, and skill instruction.

- Identify, recruit, and retain academically and athletically qualified student-athletes according to university standards; meet or exceed recruiting goals.
- Ensure the academic success of student-athletes by monitoring progress and attendance, and involving academic support resources when necessary.
- Foster a positive environment for learning and growth, serving as a mentor, advisor, and role model with good character and integrity; monitor discipline and conduct to promote personal growth and adherence to community standards.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain records and ensure compliance with university, MAC, and NCAA policies and regulations; keep accurate financial records, including fundraising transactions.
- Foster a positive team environment through regular meetings with student-athletes, coaches, and administrators.
- Collaborate with the Coordinator of Equipment & Operations and the Director of Athletics on budget and purchasing planning.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned based on department needs and expertise.
Qualifications:
- Commitment to the mission, core values, and goals of Alvernia University.
- Bachelor’s degree required; successful experience as a student-athlete and/or coach required; master’s degree and college head coaching experience preferred.
- Effective communication skills with student-athletes, coaches, trainers, and administration; team-oriented attitude.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and team-building skills; ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to a positive student-athlete experience with a focus on safety, health, and well-being.
