Job summary

Wheaton College, located in Norton, Massachusetts, is seeking a motivated Head Men's Lacrosse Coach to lead our highly competitive program. Plan recruiting, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with NCAA Division III, NEWMAC, and Wheaton rules while developing student‑athletes both on and off the field.

The Head Coach will organize practices, recruit talented prospects, and support academics and wellbeing of student‑athletes, with duties including game management and fundraising.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 2-4 years of collegiate coaching experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends throughout the year to accomplish the tasks necessary for success in this field
  • Commitment to working and teaching within an environment that embraces the overall development of students around their education.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and conduct team practices to prepare the team for competition. Travel locally, regionally, and nationally for any regular or post-season events.
  • Develop and execute a recruiting plan for prospective student-athletes.
  • Serve in an administrative capacity as needed, including but not limited to game management and a secondary duty.
  • Oversee the student‑athlete’s academic progress and be available for consultation and support for overall student‑athlete well‑being.
  • Create and implement a plan of engagement and communication with alumni and fundraising initiatives.

Job Summary/Basic Function:

Wheaton College, an NCAA institution located in Norton,Massachusetts, is looking for a motivated, energetic, passionate,and caring individual to lead our highly competitive men’s lacrosseprogram. The Head Coach prepares the team for a fullintercollegiate varsity season. Develop a recruiting plan andevaluate and identify qualified student-athletes. Prepare andmanage operating, recruiting, and fundraising budgets. Commitmentto working and teaching within an environment that embraces theholistic development of the student-athlete. Serve in anadministrative capacity and have a secondary duty as directed bythe Athletic Administration. Comply with all NCAA Division III,NEWMAC and Wheaton College rules and regulations.

  • 3-5 years of head coaching experience preferred
Compensation and Benefits

When determining and establishing hiring rates or recruitmentranges for a position, the College considers a number of factorsincluding the budget for the position, the range of the grade, theexternal market for the position or similar positions, level andscope of responsibilities, required education, skills and relevantexperience as well as internal equity. All salary offers must havethe prior approval of the Office of Human Resources.

The anticipated hiring or recruitment range for thisposition is $55-$62K. The actual salary offered will becommensurate with the qualifications, education and experience ofthe candidate hired.
