Job summary

Hocking College in Nelsonville, OH is seeking a Head Men’s Basketball Coach for a stipend-based, part-time coaching role. This position reports to the Athletics Director and leads the program, recruitment, and student-athlete academic progress monitoring in line with NJCAA and Region 12 guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in an appropriate area of specialization.
• One year of coaching experience at the high school or higher level.
• Graduate student or intern is acceptable for up to one year of the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Recruit quality prospective student-athletes and ensure timely submission of their academic records for admissions.
• Plan coaching and practice sessions in accordance with NJCAA and Region 12 regulations.
• Coach team members individually and in groups, and demonstrate game techniques.
• Actively participate in basketball-related communities, including Discord channels and conference committees.
• Develop and recommend game strategy and position assignments.
• Monitor the purchase of uniforms, equipment and supplies, including budget accountability.
