An established industry player is seeking a dynamic Head Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Coach to lead its collegiate program. This role encompasses coaching, recruitment, and management of a successful swimming and diving team, ensuring a positive environment for student-athletes. The Head Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Coach is responsible for the overall management of the program, including coaching, recruitment and retention of student-athletes, scheduling, budget management, equipment ordering, viable fundraising, public relations, and other duties as assigned.
This role involves creating a positive and successful environment for the student-athletes of the men's and women's swimming and diving program.
The coach will oversee and evaluate the daily progress of the team, including strength training, conditioning, and the academic, personal, and athletic development of student-athletes.
Responsibilities include planning, conducting, and evaluating practice activities for the team, providing group and individual assistance to engage athletes and build commitment, and collaborating with other staff members to ensure program success.
The coach will also meet with prospective students and their families, advising them on admissions, campus life, and the role of student-athletes.
Additional duties include hiring and supervising coaching staff and student workers, managing the program's budget and equipment orders, and participating in department and college-wide meetings and events.
Supervision responsibilities include overseeing a full-time assistant coach, part-time coaching assistants, and student workers.
Minimum qualifications include five or more years of coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level, with previous head coaching experience preferred. Candidates should have a strong understanding of NCAA Division III requirements, excellent communication skills, the ability to relate to a diverse group, and a thorough knowledge of NCAA and CCIW rules. A demonstrated commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes is essential.
