Job description

Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club, one of Florida’s premier private club communities, is seeking a Head Mechanic to join our Golf Course Maintenance team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment maintaining championship-level golf courses and state-of-the-art equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all golf course equipment, including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and small engine equipment,

  • Repair and provide all required preventive maintenance on all equipment associated with Course Maintenance Department.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner

  • Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance and repairs

  • Manage parts inventory, shop supplies, and ensure the maintenance facility is clean, safe, and organized

  • Train and supervise assistant mechanics and equipment operators on proper equipment use and care

  • Coordinate with Golf Course Superintendents to ensure equipment readiness and performance

  • Able to repair and maintain all golf course equipment.
Educational Requirements
  • Graduate of a vocational technical school or post-secondary training in small engine repair or mechanics preferred.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a golf course mechanic or similar role

  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic and repair skills

  • Experience with Toro or John Deere equipment preferred

  • Ability to operate and maintain reel and rotary cutting units to precise standards

  • Valid driver's license and ability to work flexible hours including some weekends and holidays
