Head Lifeguard - Romulus Athletic Center

Position Overview

The Head Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of all guests in and near the pool area, providing leadership to lifeguards, and maintaining a safe environment. This is a part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the General Manager, located in Romulus, MI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce all pool rules and safety regulations
  • Prevent injuries and address hazardous situations
  • Supervise patron surveillance during swimming activities
  • Lead and coordinate lifeguard team activities
  • Ensure staffing and coverage meet required standards
  • Instruct water safety and aquatic programs for various age groups
  • Assign cleaning duties and supervise maintenance of aquatic areas
  • Participate in training, safety audits, and event execution
  • Assist in training swim lesson and water aerobics instructors
  • Monitor chemical levels in pools to meet health standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard and Instructor certifications
  • Experience in customer service, leadership, and team building
Working Conditions
  • Work outdoors in weather conditions ranging from 80-105°F
  • Handle chemicals safely and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Stand or sit for extended periods; work in hot, humid environments
Compensation

$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
