Job description

Midtown is looking for a Head Lifeguard to add to our world-class team this summer!

The rate of pay for this role is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on experience.

Position Summary

As an integral part of the aquatics and lifeguard team, our Head Lifeguards inspire members through movement, community, and personal attention. They encourage active, social, and healthier lives by:

1. Demonstrating sound leadership, professionalism, resilience, and optimism in any/all situations
2. Monitoring lifeguards and ensuring they are following safety protocols
3. Maintaining a safe swimming environment by enforcing all rules and regulations of the pool and surrounding area
4. Recognizing and responding effectively in emergency situations
5. Performing water rescues and administering basic first aid as needed
6. Inspecting the facility on a daily basis and reporting any unsafe conditions or faulty equipment to your manager
7. Directing swimmers in and out of the pool in hazardous conditions
8. Maintaining a clean environment in and around the pool

Our Head Lifeguards:

1. Have at least two or more years of lifeguard supervisory experience
2. Are able to effectively provide associate training and development
3. Possess nationally recognized certifications in aquatics including: CPR/AED, First Aid, CPO, AFO or equivalent
4. Possess the ability to provide multisensory instruction: auditory, visual, tactile, kinesthetic
5. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver information clearly, concisely, and in a timely manner.
