Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking a Head Lifeguard to ensure the safety and supervision of members and participants across all aquatic venues. You will enforce policies, support lifeguard staff, maintain facilities, and lead in-service trainings as required.

Responsibilities include surveillance, emergency response, equipment checks, and year-round safety reporting. The role emphasizes strong leadership, communication, and adherence to state and YMCA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current Ellis & Associates lifeguard certification.
• Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Oxygen Administration, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens.
• Ability to lead and motivate a lifeguard team.
• Wamiliarity with pool safety rules and emergency action plans.

Responsibilities

• Maintains constant surveillance of the pool area.
• Responds to emergencies immediately per YMCA policies.
• Performs equipment checks and maintains safety records.
• Leads lifeguard staff and conducts trainings with aquatic leadership.
• Educates members and staff on facility rules and safety procedures.
