Job summary

Allegan Area ESA at Otsego Aquatics Center is seeking a Head Lifeguard to start immediately for a temporary assignment of about 8 weeks. This part-time role offers roughly 10 hours per week, including nights and weekends, at $17 per hour.

You will supervise the aquatic facility, lead instruction for aquatic activities, assist with registrations and payments, monitor the swimming area, instruct participants, test and maintain pool water quality, and warn participants of unsafe conduct.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification required.
• Background check/fingerprints upon hire.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and have earned a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise aquatic facility, including opening and closing procedures.
• Set up and lead instruction for aquatic activities.
• Assist with registration for aquatic activities, including cash and online payment handling.
• Monitor the swimming area.
• Instruct participants in swimming and provide safety precaution information.
• Maintain quality of pool water by testing chemical levels.
• Warn participants of unsafe conduct.
• Limited hours: around 10 hours per week including nights and weekends.
