This is not a comprehensive list and other duties may be assigned.Responsibilities:Serve as a representative of Chelsea Piers, demonstrating a positive attitude and progressive actions through the display of professionalism, courtesy, and appropriate tact and discretion in all interactions with other employees and with our membersPrevent accidents through the enforcement of policies, rules, regulations, and ordinances governing the conduct of swimming pool patrons; watch activities in the water and on swimming pool decks for individuals who may need assistance or guidanceRescue persons in distress and render the latest approved First Aid and CPR if necessaryMaintain a high level of communication with patrons, staff, supervisorsFollow all applicable safety rules and regulationsAssist in cleaning the pool, pool area, and hot tub as assignedPerformance of duties in accordance with established safety regulations and policiesPerform pool maintenance including cleaning, chemical adjustments, and repairsAssist the Operations Manager to oversee all pool operationsProvide input and feedback while responding to problemsAssist in pool operations and miscellaneous duties as assignedAbility & flexibility to cover calloutsManage monthly team in-service trainingsFacility CPR reviewsMonitor 200-meter swim testsSwim Training & Coaching:Conducts up to 5 hours per week in paid trainingConducts up to 5 hours per week in coaching classesQualifications:Lifeguard certification5+ years with lifeguard experience, preferred30+ hours/weekProfessional Rescuer certificationLifeguard Management CertificationWater Safety CertificationCPO certificationLifeguard Instructor Certification, preferredPositive, can-do and joyful attitude with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentCommunity-mindedExcellent communicatorProactive problem solver100% reliableStrong written and verbal communication skills
