Job summary

Sussex Academy is seeking a Head Coach for the 2026-2027 high school JV boys lacrosse season. The role is casual/seasonal and reports to the Athletic Director at Sussex Academy Secondary School in Georgetown, DE.

It is open until filled and offers EPER salary pay through the Sussex Academy Local Athletic program. Responsibilities include leading practice planning, coordinating game strategies, ensuring safety, maintaining equipment and records, and enforcing HAC, DIAA, and school policies while

Qualifications

Coaching experience in lacrosse or related sports preferred.
Familiarity with DIAA rules, regulations, procedures and policies preferred.

Responsibilities

Communicates with assistant coaches in regards to roles, duties and expectations.
Works collaboratively with coaches to implement organized practice plans and game strategies.
Helps oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
Responsible for adherence to all HAC, DIAA, and school rules, regulations, and policies.
Prepares detailed inventory of team equipment and updates inventory after each session.
Maintains and updates team and individual records.
Follow and practice Sussex Academy's Mindful Coach Profile.
Performs other duties as assigned that relate to this position.
