ANTRIM 1844 INC is seeking a hands-on Head Groundskeeper to oversee the historic 24-acre estate, elevating luxury garden spaces and managing daily outdoor operations for guests and events. You will lead fine horticulture care, monitor plant health, design seasonal plantings, oversee irrigation, and coordinate contractors to maintain pristine grounds.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional landscaping or groundskeeping experience, supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of plant health, soil care and pruning techniques.
• Proficiency operating power equipment.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to luxury estate standards.
• Valid drivers license; Maryland Pesticide Applicator certification is a plus.

Antrim 1844 is seeking a hands-on Head Groundskeeper to oversee and maintain our historic 24-acre estate. This lead role requires an experienced horticulture or landscaping professional who takes pride in elevating luxury garden spaces, managing daily outdoor operations, and ensuring our lawns, formal gardens, and historic grounds present an unforgettable impression for our guests and events.

Key Responsibilities

• Fine Horticulture Care: Manage the ongoing health and presentation of formal flower beds, display gardens, ornamental shrubs, and trees through precise pruning, deadheading, weeding, and soil care.
• Plant Health & Disease Management: Monitor plants daily for pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies; implement appropriate treatments and organic pest management solutions.
• Display & Seasonal Design: Assist in designing, selecting, and installing seasonal plantings, floral displays, and garden bed refreshes to maintain year-round beauty.
• Irrigation Oversight: Manage and fine-tune drip and bed irrigation systems to ensure optimal hydration for flower beds and delicate plantings.
• Esthetic Detailing & Property Walkthroughs: Maintain pristine walkways, courtyards, potted arrangements, and historic garden structures, ensuring all guest-facing spaces remain spotless.
• Contractor & Crew Coordination: Work alongside contracted lawn crews and direct on-site grounds assistants to keep all outdoor projects aligned with luxury estate standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional landscaping, groundskeeping, or golf course maintenance experience(supervisory experience preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of plant health, soil care and pruning techniques.
• Proficiency operating power equipment.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a luxury estate standard.
• Valid driver’s license required; Maryland Pesticide Applicator certification is a plus.
