Job summary

Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville, MD is seeking an experienced Landscape & Grounds Supervisor to lead maintenance of a 50-acre destination, overseeing display gardens, retail grounds, event venues, paths and more. This role blends leadership with hands-on landscape work and directly shapes guest experiences.

You’ll supervise a groundskeeping team, manage irrigation and pest control, coordinate with Events, Retail, Facilities and Landscape teams, and ensure safety and high standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in landscape maintenance or similar operations.
• Strong knowledge of trees, shrubs, turf, perennials, seasonal color, and ornamental landscape maintenance.
• Experience with irrigation systems and water management.
• Experience with landscape equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, chain saws, loaders, and utility vehicles.
• Experience with pesticide application and integrated pest management (certification preferred or ability to obtain).
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, coach, and work alongside the groundskeeping team
• Maintain ornamental landscapes, lawns, trees, shrubs, seasonal color, and perennial gardens
• Oversee mowing, pruning, mulching, planting, edging, and landscape improvements
• Monitor and maintain irrigation systems for healthy plant growth and water efficiency
• Coordinate integrated pest management and weed control practices
• Inspect, maintain, and coordinate repairs of landscape equipment and tools
• Partner with Events, Retail, Facilities, and Landscape teams to prepare outdoor spaces for weddings, festivals, and special events
• Assist with seasonal projects including leaf removal, winterization, snow removal, and property improvements
• Maintain a safe work environment while ensuring the property always reflects Homestead Gardens' high standards

Homestead Gardens is seeking an experienced Landscape & Grounds Supervisor to lead the maintenance and beautification of our award‑winning Davidsonville campus. This is more than a groundskeeping position. You'll oversee the care of nearly every outdoor space across our 50-acre destination—including display gardens, retail grounds, event venues, walking paths, brewery grounds, animal pastures, and landscaped public areas. Your work directly shapes the experience of thousands of guests who visit Homestead Gardens each year.

• Experience with irrigation systems and water management
• Working knowledge of landscape equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, chain saws, loaders, and utility vehicles
• Experience with pesticide application and integrated pest management (certification preferred or ability to obtain)
