Job summary

Fiddler's Creek Golf Club in Naples, FL is seeking a Head Golf Professional to lead the golf operations and deliver an exceptional member experience.

Ideal candidate will oversee tournaments, tee sheet management, budgets, staff leadership, and guest service while embodying professional golf standards and representing Troon. A BA and Class A PGA/LPGA membership are preferred; teaching ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or three to five years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination.
• Class A PGA/LPGA membership is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees golf operations including tournaments, rules, tee sheet management, and cart fleet.
• Develops and tracks the budget and business plan; helps control expenses.
• Maintains high level of customer service and member engagement.
• Schedules staff and delegates areas of responsibility; ensures safety standards.
• Leads staff development and provides golf instruction as needed.

We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing togrow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate ofTroon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

General Purpose:

The Head Golf Professional reports to the Director of Golf. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering an exceptional member golf experience. We are looking for an accomplished player who can serve as the face of the golf operation, engage with members daily, and help elevate the overall golf experience at the club. While teaching ability is certainly a plus, it is not a primary focus for this role, as we have a dedicated Director of Instruction on staff.

The ideal candidate will be highly visible, member-focused, possess strong leadership and operational skills, and be committed to fostering a welcoming and first-class golf environment.

• Oversees golf operations including tournaments, rules, tee sheet management, merchandise inventory, range and player service operations, cart fleet, golf programming, and instruction.
• Assists in the development and day-to-day tracking of the budget and business plan.
• Helps to control expenses in relation to revenues.
• Creates a customer service-oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets the needs of the members.
• Ensures that associates provide a high level of customer service.
• Prepares work schedules and assigns associates areas of responsibility.
• Responsible for Data Capture / Data Collection of golfing guests and potential customers utilizing club defined data collection processes.
• Provides leadership and vision to golf staff, building people, and preparing them for career advancement.
• Provide golf instruction through lessons and clinics to members and guests, as needed.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly stands, walks, and sits.
• Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches.
• Frequently uses hands; reaches with hands and arms.
• Frequently talks or hears; tastes or smells.
• Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Certificates/Licenses:

• Class A Member of PGA/LPGA

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

• Ability to read and speak English is required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates are required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with computerized POS and tee time system.
