Uintah High School is seeking a Head Girls Wrestling Coach to lead the program, organize practices, and foster discipline and sportsmanship among student-athletes under the supervision of the Principal and Athletic Director.

The role requires a high school diploma and coaching experience, with a preference for candidates holding a teaching license. Salary follows the District UHSAA Coaches Schedule and the district’s policies.

Qualifications

• Evidence of coaching experience, training, or degree in coaching; experience as a coach or advisor.
• Preference for teaching license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain team organization and discipline; build positive relationships.
• Schedule and prepare for practices, camps, tournaments, and games.
• Manage equipment and supplies; oversee program development.
• Plan and chaperone out-of-town games; enforce athletic policies and by-laws.
• Handle insurance, physicals, and transportation forms in coordination with school staff.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Principal and Athletic Director, the head coach is to help participating students achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship.

DISTRICT EXPECTATIONS FOR HEAD COACHES

• Maintain team organization, discipline, and good relationships with people;
• Schedule and prepare for practices, Saturday camps, tournaments and games;
• Properly manage and care for equipment and supplies;
• Be responsible for the development of the program;
• Be an example of ethical behavior and moral character;
• Be responsible for managing budgets;
• Plan and chaperone any out-of-town games;
• Enforce and follow school athletic policies and by-laws;
• Take care of insurance, physicals and transportation forms;
• Work with appropriate school personnel in making transportation arrangements.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma required;
• Successful experience working with secondary students;
• Evidence of coaching experience, training or degree in coaching, experience as a coach or an advisor;
• Preference will be given to candidates with a teaching license.
