Job summary

ROOSEVELT HIGH in Des Moines, IA is seeking an HS Head Girls Softball Coach for the 2026-27 school year. The stipend for this position is $7,035, derived from a percentage of the base salary negotiated by DMEA, and may be prorated if not the full season.

The role requires Iowa coaching endorsement, strong communication, and leadership experience. Bachelor’s degree in education or related field is preferred; CDL and CPR knowledge are also valued.

Qualifications

• Valid Iowa Coaching Endorsement or Coaching Authorization.
• Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
• Coaching and/or leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as leader and manager for the athletic program.
• Develop regular practice schedule for individual and team development.
• Coach and instruct players on rules, equipment, and techniques of softball.
• Ensure compliance with district regulations and maintain student eligibility.
