Job summary

TeachIowa Alburnett Community School District is seeking a Head Girls Soccer Coach to lead, supervise, and organize all athletic activities for the girls soccer program. The role includes coordinating practices, games, and transportation, while upholding district rules and fostering discipline and self-esteem in student athletes.

Requirements include a coaching endorsement and experience as a player or coach, plus the ability to serve as a positive role model.

Qualifications

• Possess a coaching endorsement or coaching authorization certification
• Have experience as a player or coach of the sport
• Have the ability to be a role model for student athletes

Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable of rules and coaching techniques; ensure eligibility and conduct per policies.
• Provide for health and safety of athletes including physicals, insurance, equipment, practice procedures, and emergencies.
• Establish communication with students and parents about team rules, awards, lettering, and regulations.
• Prepare and submit inventory of equipment and uniforms after each season.
• Coordinate transportation requests with the Transportation Director with sufficient lead time.
• Travel with team to away events and ensure no equipment is left behind.
• Report scores to media and provide accurate statistics for press releases.
• Motivate athletes with praise; exercise self-control during practices and games.
• Schedule and organize practices and events with cooperation among coaches.
• Maintain records of team and individual accomplishments for long‑term records.
• Work with assistant and junior high coaches for program continuity.
• Complete required annual trainings and perform other duties as assigned.
