To perform semi-skilled work in all areas of the plant such as air conditioning, plumbing, hardware, carpentry, grounds, sprinklers, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs. Keep school furniture, equipment, and utility systems in proper working condition. Monitor the proper operation of the school's mechanical system.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program.
• Three (3) years of industrial, commercial, or educational facility experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the proper operation of vacuums, washers, and buffing equipment; ability to train subordinates. Ability to schedule assignments and instruct staff in energy conservation procedures. Knowledge of floor care, sanitation, and safeguards against improper use. General knowledge of minor maintenance and repairs to buildings, equipment, and grounds. Understanding of preventative maintenance. Ability to use power and hand tools associated with trades. Safe ladder work. Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Must complete the Professional and Master Facilities Service training programs conducted by Human Resource Development prior to applying.
• Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, including demotion, as per the Federation of Public Employees Bargaining Agreement.
