Qualifications
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities.
- Three written and verified references on file.
- Three years minimum experience as a custodian in private industry or public services preferred.
- High school diploma and the ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports.
- Ability to direct employees and organize a work schedule.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to respond physically to after-hours alarms and emergency calls.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Job Goal
To provide students, parents, and teachers with a safe, attractive, clean, and efficient environment for learning and activities.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing fixtures, washing windows, disinfecting restrooms, and assisting with snow removal. Lift and carry items over 50 pounds regularly.
- Ensure safety, security, and proper functioning of the facility, reporting any issues promptly.
- Inspect doors, windows, and gates for security.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Follow laws regarding trash and waste disposal.
- Attend safety and maintenance meetings as scheduled.
- Check fire alarm systems and oversee fire safety and security.
- Perform emergency repairs and cleaning as needed.
- Manage building access and assist law enforcement when required.
- Monitor and maintain interior and exterior lighting.
- Report violations of parking regulations.
- Assist with grounds maintenance.
- Supervise and instruct custodial staff, ensuring quality of work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment
Non-exempt, twelve-month position.
