Job summary

Ector County Independent School District is seeking a Head Custodian – High School in Odessa to oversee custodial operations, ensure a clean and safe learning environment, and manage staff under the Custodial Foreman. This Exempt, full-time role reports to the Custodial Foreman and carries a Pay Grade 7.

Position responsibilities include supervising custodians, maintaining building conditions, scheduling, ordering supplies, and performing inspections, with a salary range of $19–$26.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years’ experience as a custodian.
• Directs and oversees responsibilities for other custodians.
• Open/close building and control temperature, ensure general cleanliness.
• Instruct custodial staff in use of equipment, chemicals, and materials.
• Train and evaluate custodial staff; develop work and time schedules.
• Care for equipment and maintain inventory of supplies when head custodian is unavailable.
• Perform inspections and report conditions to the principal or supervisor.
• Direct minor building repairs (mechanical, electrical, carpentry or other).
• Perform cleaning of assigned portion of the building and other duties as assigned.
