Job summary

Bowling Green City Schools is seeking a Head Custodian to coordinate and perform custodial and maintenance duties for the school building, grounds, equipment and furnishings. The Head Custodian will keep the director of buildings and grounds informed about maintenance concerns and emerging issues.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, custodial/building maintenance experience, basic mechanical skills, and knowledge of safety regulations; willingness to obtain a low-pressure boiler

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; trade training desirable.
Documented evidence of a clear criminal record.
Custodial and/or building maintenance experience.
Basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing and carpentry skills.
Ability to interpret blueprint and schematic information.
Knowledge of building codes, accessibility guidelines, safety regulations and environmental laws.
Knowledge of microelectronics and HVAC control systems.
Hold or qualify to obtain a low-pressure operators license; boiler operation and preventive maintenance proficiency.
Available to respond to building/service emergencies.

Hours: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday

Salary: $19.82 per hour starting wage

Location: Kenwood Elementary

Position Summary: The Head Custodian coordinates and performs custodial and maintenance duties to protect and preserve the school building, grounds, equipment, and furnishings. The Head Custodian keeps the director of buildings and grounds informed about maintenance concerns and emerging issues.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Post-secondary training in a trade is desirable.
Documented evidence of a clear criminal record.
Custodial and/or building maintenance experience.
