Job summary

McCreary County Schools District Wide in Stearns, Kentucky seeks an Elementary Wrestling Head Coach. This part-time role reports to the Principal and Athletic Director and begins immediately.

The coach will develop skills, plan practices, schedule contests, recommend equipment, and ensure safety and proper record-keeping. Responsibilities emphasize fair treatment of all participants, adherence to district and Kentucky High School Athletic Association guidelines, and building a positive program

• Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for performing the task listed.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.
• Works closely with the athletics director in scheduling intramural and interscholastic contests.
• Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, as appropriate.
• Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paper work.
• Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times those students are present.
• Establishes performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in his sport.
• Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
• Abides by the rules and regulations of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association.
• Assures that all students are given an equal opportunity to participate.

JOB GOAL: To help each participating students achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of esteem.
