Position Details

• Position: Head Coach - Women's Wrestling
• Department: Athletics
• Reports To: Vice President of Athletics

Primary Function

The head coach is responsible for directing and administering all aspects of the Women's Wrestling program, including coaching, recruitment, and monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Coaching, Sport/Athletic Management, Student Personnel Administration, Higher Education, Education, or related field preferred.
• 1 to 3 years of coaching experience desired.
• Budgeting, planning, and computer skills.
• Supervise Graduate Assistant Coach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of the sport through excellence in coaching.
• In consultation with the Vice President of Athletics, select, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches.
• Manage sport budget and develop a sport schedule.
• Ensure compliance with college, department, and NCAA policies and regulations; orient student-athletes and boosters accordingly.
• Oversee conduct and discipline of student-athletes.
• Plan and implement practices and competitions.
• Recruit student-athletes to meet team goals.
• Supervise pre-season and post-season conditioning.
• Maintain professional conduct and attire at all times.
• Assist in fundraising events, including the Annual Pioneer Golf Classic.
• Adhere to all compliance and regulatory standards, including NCAA and conference bylaws, Title IX, and Clery Act regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Compliance Responsibilities

Ensure knowledge and implementation of NCAA rules related to amateurism, eligibility, recruiting, and more. Responsibilities include reviewing NCAA rules with athletes, ensuring eligibility, providing accurate reports, and maintaining compliance with all NCAA regulations and institutional policies.
