JOB DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Behrend, part of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, is seeking a full-time Head Coach for Women's Volleyball (DIII).

The Head Coach oversees all athletic team activities, plans and directs training, assesses player abilities, analyzes opponents, develops game strategies, promotes the team, participates in fundraising and community service, recruits and retains student-athletes, and maintains NCAA and other applicable rules compliance.

Representative Duties:

  • Hire, supervise, mentor, and evaluate coaching and athletic staff
  • Lead recruiting, evaluation, and retention of student-athletes
  • Establish and manage the team's schedule, travel, and compliance
  • Collaborate on marketing, promotion, sponsorships, and event planning
  • Plan practices, develop coaching strategies, and prepare the team for competition
  • Mentor student-athletes on conduct, athletic, academic, and social growth
  • Coordinate with various university units (admissions, medical, academic, etc.)
  • Manage the operational budget responsibly
  • Organize summer camps and promote their growth
  • Ensure compliance with university, conference, and NCAA rules

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and at least two years of college recruiting and coaching experience. Knowledge of NCAA and AMCC rules, and ability to become CPR and AED certified.

This position requires background checks: PA State Police, PA Child Abuse, FBI fingerprint, and a valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle records check.
