This position involves frequent verbal, written, and email correspondence with current and prospective students, parents, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing a successful recruiting/retention plan.
- Devising a game strategy, including scouting opponents.
- Planning and supervising practices, contests, off-season training, and strength conditioning programs.
- Coordinating team travel.
- Managing the program operating budget.
- Integrating the Rugby program into the campus and Adrian community.
- Adhering to and ensuring compliance with departmental, College, National Intercollegiate Rugby Association, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent work experience.
- Previous collegiate Rugby coaching experience.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, student-athletes, and administration.
- Ability to perform duties within an office environment, stand for long periods, and lift up to 25 pounds. Must demonstrate techniques to student-athletes.
- Current holder of Safe Sport Certification.
Desired Qualifications:
- Preference for candidates with a Master’s Degree and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management or extensive coaching background in recruitment, familiar with Adrian College policies and procedures.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills (oral and written). Self-starter capable of working independently and interpreting, applying, and complying with all NCAA rules and regulations.
