Mid-Pacific Institute is seeking a Head Coach for boys' volleyball to develop student-athletes at middle and high school levels and to run regular practice schedules with mentoring for assistant coaches.
The role includes supervising staff within the program, overseeing the 4th–6th Grade CSAL season, recruiting, and collaborating with the Athletic Department to maintain a competitive program. This is a temporary seasonal position concluding at season end.
$4,000 Stipend paid one time at the end of each season
The Head Coach is responsible for developing student-athletes in the sport of Boys Volleyball at all levels of the program (middle and high school). Additional responsibilities include developing regular practice schedules, recruiting and mentoring assistant and lower-level coaches as needed, overseeing the 4th–6th Grade Boys Volleyball CSAL season, and collaborating with the Athletic Department to maintain a competitive and well-rounded program.
In addition to coaching the Varsity team, the Head Coach will supervise staff within the program, and evaluate and develop both Middle and High School athletes.
This is a temporary, seasonal position that concludes at the end of the volleyball season. Coaches who are invited to return for a future season will be offered a new temporary appointment based on program needs and approval from the Athletic Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but is not limited to the following, as assigned by the Athletic Director/Assistant Athletic Director:

This is an in-person, on-call position requiring fewer than 20 hours per week during the Volleyball season.
A qualified person will possess the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with the Athletic Department, coaching staff, maintenance staff, faculty/staff, student-athletes, parents, and other members of the Mid-Pacific athletic community. This communication will include a combination of phone calls, text messages, emails, letters, and face-to-face conversations. The person must be well organized, able to meet deadlines, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Additionally, the person will be a positive role model in our community and possess the highest level of sportsman-like behavior at all times.
The employee is frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods during practices, competitions, and other team activities; move throughout the gymnasium and athletic facilities to instruct, observe, and supervise student-athletes; and use hands and arms to demonstrate volleyball techniques, including serving, setting, passing, and hitting. The employee may occasionally be required to run, bend, squat, kneel, reach, and perform other movements associated with demonstrating volleyball skills, drills, and techniques. The employee may occasionally lift, carry, push, or move volleyball equipment and supplies weighing up to approximately 25 pounds and assist with the setup, movement, and storage of equipment used for practices and competitions. The position also requires navigating stairs, uneven surfaces, and various indoor and outdoor areas of the school campus and athletic facilities and remaining physically active for the duration of practices and competitions, which may include evenings and weekends. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
On a daily basis, must consistently problem-solve, make informed decisions, interpret data, organize effectively, communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, and engage in thoughtful planning.
The employee frequently uses volleyball and athletic training equipment and occasionally uses a computer, telephone, scoreboard and timing equipment, and audio/visual equipment.
Indoor, loud noise, cold and hot temperatures - frequently.
