Job summary

Marple Newtown School District is seeking a Head Coach for Girls Track and Field at Paxon Hollow Middle School to supervise and promote all aspects of the PIAA program, teach fundamentals and team strategies, and plan conditioning for a successful season.

• Conduct pre-season and post-season conditioning as per policy.

• Participate in recruitment efforts.
• Comply with PIAA rules, district policies and eligibility requirements.
• Respond to player injuries using first aid methods.
• Maintain uniforms, equipment and school facilities.
• Supervise bus, locker room and team members.
• Monitor attendance, grades and personal conduct.
• Follow MNSD policies in all duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Principal/Athletic Director.

Number of Units: 6

Location: Paxon Hollow Middle School

Number of Positions: 1

Supervises, coordinates and promotes all phases of the PIAA program. The coach assumes responsibility for teaching student‑athletes the sport and utilizes demonstrations of skill development progression to teach fundamental skills and team strategy. Teaches sportsmanship and stresses responsibility to one's team and respect for others; plans and schedules conditioning activities to develop sport fitness needed to achieve a degree of individual and team success. The person is directly responsible to the principals and athletic director and works in cooperation with the faculty manager.

• Participate in a successful recruitment program.
• Ability to display competency in coaching philosophy, knowledge of PIAA rules and regulations, MNSD School Board Policy, and Student-Athletic Eligibility requirements.
• Ability to respond to player injuries by using first aid techniques.
• Must be able to maintain uniforms, equipment and school facilities.
• Must be able to supervise bus, locker room and team members.
• Must be able to monitor team members' attendance, grades and personal conduct.
• Has read and understands obligations as outlined in MNSD School Board Policies.
• Conducts other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Athletic Director of the school.

Frequency of meetings: Daily practices during the spring season.

Approximate number of students enrolled: TBD

Clearances: In accordance with school code, Act 24 and all related clearances.

Compensation

• 1-2 years experience – $438.00
• 3-5 years experience – $475.00
• 6 years & over experience – $510.00
