This position involves coaching, supervising, and developing an intercollegiate varsity tennis team, including in-season and off-season programming, in accordance with institutional and departmental objectives and the rules of athletic governing bodies. Responsibilities include creating a competitive and fiscally responsible schedule of intercollegiate competition.

Core Responsibilities
  • Plan, strategize, and oversee practices and competitions to ensure a positive and competitive experience for student-athletes.
  • Develop recruitment plans to enroll student-athletes for a successful athletic program.
  • Establish and implement team rules and protocols.
  • Support the personal development and competitive spirit of athletes while promoting their educational success.
  • Emphasize academic progress, retention, and graduation rates.
  • Supervise team activities at competitions, ensuring adherence to rules and regulations.
  • Represent the university and team at athletic events and conferences.
  • Coordinate fundraising activities to support team expenses.
  • Manage departmental budget.
  • Supervise and develop staff, providing professional growth opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in athletic coaching, collegiate playing, or related fields.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • First Aid, CPR, AED certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three or more years of collegiate coaching experience.

Candidates must reside or relocate within commuting distance of the Charlotte Campus upon hire. Applications are accepted until the position is filled.
